She has no statement. So I will have to attach my own meanings to the work, which i do not prefer to do because I wish to allow the artist to define their own work. They have had many more hours of dedication and effort put into it than I have so i wish to grant them the honor of attaching their meaning, inspiration, motivation, pain points, desires and worldviews to the work. I will use my method of reading into the art which I have only just created. I will start with a preliminary glance. I will assume that everything in the work was intentional. I will glance for plot and any signs that might aid in addressing the time, associated values, content and how the passing of time within the work might contribute to the meaning. Then i will look at the materials used and the techniques utilized to grant the effects the artist (Barbara Howey in this situation) wished to convey and add that to my mental dictionary of tropes, signs, symbols for future reference. Next i will look at her activation of space, her composition and any signs of hidden meaning. Finally i will gather the data that i have acquired to pinpoint her motivations, inspirations, feelings and her goals. Understanding all these things will grant me an insider perspective and maybe a clearer goal of her objectives. All in all these things all add to or subtract value from the work. Therefore i will deem whether or not i have responsibility to her work.
The first gallery that she had was very heavily geard toward envirnmental issues.
