I made a website for my local coffee shop

I’m posting a link to the site down below, so if that’s what you’re here for, that’s where to look; And now- story time

It’s so strange to think that I’ve become a veteran worker at my local coffee shop in just two months. I’ve seen a lot of people leave and a lot of people coming in fresh.

All the people who left the coffee shop loved the place, and gave fond goodbyes as they moved into new chapters of their lives. For me, I’ll be sticking around a little longer.

Now that I’ve made myself comfortable in my new position as head Barista for night shifts and special events, I negotiated the owner to let me get my hands on the barebones website of his and turn it into something relevant. Just like how 4 AM Coffee Roasters (the coffee shop) is supposed to be “the third place” in people’s daily lives, I wanted the website to sort of be “the third place” in their digital lives. This was a big opportunity I had to breath new life to the cafe/ restaurant/ local market! I’ve been planning and dreaming about this opportunity since the day I arrived.

And the first change I made was accidentally delete the entire menu.

No seriously, I looked at the site with its stark white background and bright purple banners with such eagerness. It was made on WordPress just like yours truly, so I thought I knew what I was doing. I changed the theme thinking I could undo it if I didn’t like it. What happened instead was that I erased all prior history up to that point on the page I was testing and created a new checkpoint. The page I destroyed was the complete menu of the joint.

They get about 80 people on their site a day so this wasn’t a small problem, and what started out as a rush job to fix my mistake turned into what I think is a pretty solid layout.

Take a look at the site and tell me what you think! What would you get from the menu?
